How Kyle Busch Died — The Final Hours

He pushed through it. He always pushed through everything.
Kyle actually raced in a Truck Series race on May 15, winning the EcoSave 200. He then competed in the NASCAR All-Star Race on May 17, just four days before his death. The Trace
Then came Wednesday.
Busch was testing in the Chevrolet racing simulator in Concord when he became unresponsive and was transported to a hospital in Charlotte. ABC News
911 audio obtained by TMZ Sports revealed that a caller said the NASCAR superstar was struggling to breathe, overheating and coughing up blood before medics rushed to help. The Trace
He never made it back out of that hospital.

A Career Unlike Any Other in NASCAR History
Kyle Busch was not just a champion. He was the most prolific winner in NASCAR history across all three national series.
His numbers across the other two national NASCAR series are record-setting, with 102 victories in what is now called the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and 69 wins in the Craftsman Truck Series. Omaha World-Herald
He won his first Cup Series title in 2015 in one of the most dramatic championship runs the sport had ever seen — coming back from a broken leg sustained in a crash earlier that season. He won his second in 2019 driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.
He was in his 22nd full-time NASCAR season when he died. He had won a race just six days before his death. He had competed in the All-Star Race four days before collapsing in a simulator.
He was still at the very top of his sport when it all ended.
The Watkins Glen Warning Sign
In hindsight, the radio call from Watkins Glen on May 10 takes on an entirely different meaning.
During the race, Busch radioed his crew for medical aid. On TV, they noted Kyle had been battling some sort of sinus issue. However, he actually finished the race, coming in eighth place. ABC News

The cause of death has not been confirmed. The questions are only beginning.
